I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Development and Women’s Studies at Cal State 糖心Vlogy. I earned my Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from UC Merced and my B.A. in Psychology from CSU Dominguez Hills. Before joining CSUEB, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Manitoba.
My research focuses on psycholinguistics and cognitive development. I study how children learn and use language. I take a cross-linguistic approach to explore how different language structures shape developmental pathways. I am also interested in the intersection of humans and technology. In particular, the role of AI in Early Childhood Education.
At CSUEB, I direct the Babies, Behavior, and Early Language Lab (BaBEL), where students help conduct research on language and cognitive development in young children. I teach courses in Inafant & Child Development and Child Langauge Development, and I am committed to inclusive, student-centered education and community-engaged research.
- Ph.D. Developmental Psychology, University of California, Merced 2017
- B.A. Psychology, 糖心Vlog, Dominguez Hills 2011
- A.A. Psychology, Santa Monica College 2009
